Research Interests

I seek to study how infants are able to process emotional expressions in people with different races and genders. Most literature uses neutral faces and focuses on either race or gender, but I would like to use the value of intersectionality to look at the creation of in-group and out-group biases in early life. I would like to conduct research looking at how deficits in facial and emotional recognition can lead to future diagnoses later in life, as social deficits tend to be core to most psychiatric diagnoses.
